The Arsenal History Society is part of the Arsenal Independent Supporters Association – a body which gives positive support to the club, and has regular meetings with directors and senior officials of the club to represent the views of its members to the club. OK I admit it I am cheating today. Because the link on this day, 23 November, is that Matthew Connolly went on his first loan period, to Bournemouth, playing five league games and two FA Cup matches, and scoring against Nottingham Forest.
He then returned to Arsenal and played in the League Cup quarter final on 9 January 2007 in the amazing Liverpool 3 Arsenal 6 match. So the 3-6 game was not on this day but the video is so good I am using the Connolly link to slip it in here. Do watch it.
