Here’s the story of the demolition of the old Arsenal Stadium as told in stills taken from Highbury Hill. It was created in the early days of the new-fangled YouTube video (as it was then) so it creaks a bit! But when live football feels like nostalgia, here’s a genuine bit.
Notice how all but the back of the west stand was removed, so everything you see of it today is new, although the architects recreated the look and style as much as possible.
(We’d update it and improve the quality of the video if we could but it was created with a one-off name ‘One Big Arsenal Fan’ and we have no idea how to get back into it – we don’t know the password and changes to YouTube’s Ts and Cs mean we can’t get it back!! If anyone knows how, please come back to us!)
