And yet there is a lesson in this, because Arsenal ended up the season in third place, despite this horror story. So maybe we can make something positive out of this. A really terrible defeat, and yet we manage to climb to third. How was that?

Arsenal 3 Celtic1. After the match Massimo Donati demanded that Eduardo da Silva receive a European ban for diving in an incident in which the ref had given a penalty. The SFA chief agreed, the media whipped up a storm and by 29 August Eduardo was retrospectively charged with diving on no evidence at all!
