The club has announced that to assist supporters with travel to Everton on the new date (December 20th, 8pm), it is providing additional, heavily subsidised supporter coaches for the match. All coach travel will be priced at £10 for the return journey to Everton.
The full message sent to AISA by the club reads:
The Premier League has just announced that our match at the Hill Dickinson Stadium will now take place on Saturday 20 December, 8pm kick-off.
The match was previously scheduled for Sunday 21 December. However, the EFL scheduled our Carabao Cup Quarter-Final tie against Crystal Palace for Tuesday 23 December due to Palace’s participation in the UEFA Conference League. Crystal Palace’s Premier League match away to Leeds is also being played on Saturday 20 December with an 8pm kick off.
When our Carabao Cup fixture was scheduled, we requested a change of date to avoid playing two matches in the space of 48 hours. This matter has been discussed at length internally across the club with Mikel and his staff and our leadership team to consider the impact of this fixture change.
Player welfare and recovery time is especially important during the busy festive period, but we are extremely mindful of the impact this date change will have on our travelling supporters.
To assist our supporters with travel on the new date, we are providing additional, heavily subsidised supporter coaches for this match. All coach travel will be priced at £10 for the return journey to Everton.
Although we don’t encourage our supporters to book travel before they have secured a match ticket, we have also been in touch with the train operator to advise of this difficult situation that is coming.
Match tickets and coach travel for Everton will go on sale on Monday 17 November.
