Tommy Robinson has called for mass racist demonstration in London on October 26.
Stand up to Racism has TUC support for building a counter demonstration. Already trains being booked from major cities to attend.
Local Stand Up To Racism will be leafleting Arsenal fans on 12th October (WSL match v Chelsea) and asks AISA members and friends to help raise awareness by joining in leafleting supporters before the match.
The leaflet advertises the demo and hopefully 20 or so people will distribute them (in pairs) between between 12:30 to 1:30. Meet up will be before, outside the Armoury.
In 2021, AISA took part in a demonstration that was held outside the stadium in support of Bukaya Saka, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho. This followed the abuse they experienced after the missed penalties in the Euros.
Condemning the abuse, England Manager, Gareth Southgate said at the time, “We have been a beacon of light in bringing people together, in people being able to relate to the national team, and the national team stands for everybody and so that togetherness has to continue.
“We have shown the power our country has when it does come together and has that energy and positivity together.”
European football’s governing body Uefa condemned the “disgusting racist abuse”, adding: “We stand by the players and the FA’s call for the strongest possible punishments.”
