Why was the picth so slippery? Ødergaard, Martinelli, Rice, Saka and quire a few in red lost their footing at crucial moments. What was up with them? Had they been auditioning for Dancing On Ice? Are the clubs so hard pressed they can’t afford second sets of bots or proper studs?
How is Declan Rice so good? The one moment that really comes to mind is when, confronted by the five ‘Red Arrows’, he managed to get back, make himself look big and force Salah to choose the least good option. And he was also brilliant the rest of the match (aforementioned slip on the turf aside).
What might have happened if Saliba had been fit as last season ended?
Do we need a goalkeeper? With the way the defence blocks out shots, the role of the keeper seems to be to collect crosses, manage goal kicks and recycle and distribute the ball. Raya is doing that well. Ramsdale would probably do it as well (especially if he’s used his ‘down time’ to improve his distribution). Most of the goals we’ve conceded have been unstoppable. The number of proper saves made could be counted on the fingers of David Seaman’s giant gloves. We could probably play with Almunia in goal and barely notice the difference!
How has Havertz collected so many yellow cards? Change the song, ‘Kai Havertz booked again’!
Who will play in his place against West Ham? Trossard? Smith Rowe? Elneny? Discuss.
Why does it matter being top of the table at Christmas? Except, somehow, it does!
Have Sp*rz collected too many points to be relegated this season?
All those saying that Citeh are supreme having won all the finals and big matches this year seem to have forgotten the trophy (below). Not exactly the Crow Jewels but if we recall, the score at Wembley was 4-1 (on penalties) and not to Citeh!
It’s Christmas. And after that performance at Anfield, we can sit back and enjoy the holiday. AISA hopes you have a great time.
