There will be many upset families, with people having to choose between their love and unwavering loyal support of their team, and their children’s excitement at the arrival of Father Christmas. We know money and TV schedules fund the quality of games we watch each week, but have the SKY people no heart at all? And that’s before you factor in the staff at these clubs – and the TV crews – having to work, and the difficulty of getting to the match with public transport winding down for the holidays. (Yes, they manage do it.) And don’t the players have families, too?
