AISA is very concerned at Arsenal FC’s decision to make 55 posts redundant at the club.
We have been and remain supportive of the club in this very difficult time and note the efforts that have been taken – not least by the playing staff and senior management team – to make significant cost savings – but we would have hoped that redundancies could have been avoided.
The Arsenal Family needs to pull together in these unprecedented times and find creative solutions to difficult problems, this is what we expect from a club that is ‘always ahead of the game’.

I am amazed that Arsenal has announced 55 redundancies. We are not a poor club to the extent that 55 redundancies are financially necessary. No doubt that those being made redundant are loyal to the club. An easy solution would be for the club’s owner, Mr Kroenke, a billionaire should follow the example of the owners of Chelsea and Man City by introducing funds to the club rather than Mr Kroenke who, unbelievably, withdrew 3 million pounds as consultancy fees during at least twice during recent years.
Seeing as a lot of the players took 10% salary cuts (which amount to about £1.5m per month) I’d have though this would have kept the 55 employed until the way ahead is clearer.
Good stuff!
